HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKER 2 - Underfill Highway Maintenance Worker 3 (Ely)
About The Position
Highway Maintenance Workers are certified by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to operate a variety of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment in order to restore and maintain the integrity of roadway surfaces; maintain roadside slopes, shoulders, culverts and ditches to restore drainage and prevent erosion; and repair or replace related roadway appurtenances such as guardrails, markers, guide posts and fences. ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION. PLEASE MARK YOU HAVE ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE PERFORMING BASIC HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE TO PROCEED TO APPLICATION. Must have the ability to work independently. The majority of positions in this classification will be required to operate various types of heavy equipment. This position is located in Ely, NV. This position is responsible for maintenance and replacement of highway signage, pavement markings, and long line striping in the Ely Sub-District. Crew also performs general highway maintenance and winter de-icing. These positions may require working in inclement weather. THIS IS A TRAINEE LEVEL POSITION IN THE SERIES AND INCUMBENT MAY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL UPON MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY.THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.
