If you’re passionate about high-quality spay/neuter surgery, you already know the impact this work has. Every procedure prevents unwanted litters, reduces shelter intake, and keeps pets healthier and in the homes where they belong. At Santa Fe Animal Shelter, our Spay & Neuter Clinic is a critical part of that work—providing accessible, high-volume surgical care that supports both the community and the shelter's long-term sustainability. We’re looking for a skilled, efficient, and compassionate HQHVSN veterinarian who takes pride in doing this work well and at scale. The High-Volume Spay/Neuter (HQHVSN) Veterinarian plays a critical role in delivering accessible, high-quality surgical and preventive care that directly reduces pet overpopulation and supports community animal welfare. This position leads high-volume spay/neuter surgeries three days per week and provides vaccine and wellness services one day per week, ensuring efficient, safe, and compassionate care for every patient. Working as part of a mission-driven team, the veterinarian helps expand access to essential services for underserved populations while supporting the financial sustainability of the organization. Beyond clinical work, the role contributes to community impact through education, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for pets and the people who care for them.
