About The Position

Requirements
- Have a passion for science
- Commitment to support student mastery of content
- Critical thinking skills that will set students up for success in college and beyond
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and school families, doing “whatever it takes,” to make the vision for students a reality
- NC Teacher Certification in the subject area and relevant grades
- Demonstrated ability to teach middle school and/or high school grades 6-12 with a passion for and competency in the appropriate subject area
- Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities
- Possession of a valid TB test issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching the North Carolina State Standards for high school science
- Competent to teach in a diverse and ever changing learning environment
- Experience in teaching 8th grade Science and preparing students to take the 8th grade Science EOG
