About The Position

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching North Carolina State Standards for High School Science and be competent in a diverse learning environment, teaching courses like Earth and Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science. Requirements
- NC Teacher Certification in the subject area and relevant grades
- Demonstrated ability to teach high school and/or grades 6-12 with a passion for and competency in the appropriate subject area
- Experience in teaching high school Science
- Demonstrated ability to build a warm and inclusive classroom environment, implement positive behavior practices, and build strong relationships with students and families to support student success
- Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate rigorous and engaging lessons aligned to the content standards outlined in the NC Standard Course of Study
- Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities
- Possession of a valid TB test issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority
