High School Early Literacy Interventionist (SY26/27)

Rocky Mountain PrepDenver, CO

About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep is an organization committed to changing public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families. They operate twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade and invest deeply in every educator through ongoing coaching and professional development. RMP's culture is rooted in rigor and love, promising to develop and champion team members. At Rocky Mountain Prep, literacy intervention is viewed as acceleration, not remediation. The belief is that every high school scholar can become a confident, critical reader and writer with precise, data-driven instruction and affirming, identity-centered learning experiences. Through an MTSS framework, Literacy Interventionists provide targeted Tier II and Tier III support, addressing unfinished learning while keeping scholars engaged in grade-level texts. They use whole group, small-group, and individualized instruction to analyze data, identify root causes of reading challenges (decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension), and design responsive lessons. Intervention prioritizes scholar voice, discussion, and engagement with diverse texts, fostering students' self-perception as readers, thinkers, and leaders. Literacy Interventionists collaborate with families, classroom teachers, and school leaders to ensure cohesive support for accelerated growth.
