This posting is for High School Students participating in a CTE program. Applicants should only apply if they are attending an Application Session with an IU Health representative. The position covers all locations across the West Region. Under the supervision of a designated supervisor and assigned physician, the Medical Assistant performs duties related to direct patient care and clinical direction, ensuring care is provided according to organizational standards. Key responsibilities include ensuring the completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, maintaining smooth patient flow, performing general lab work, instructing patients on procedures and needs, and ensuring medical orders and referrals are executed accurately and promptly. The role also involves registration and scheduling activities, maintaining EMR files, and performing general front office functions. Computerized physician order entry may be performed if directed by the assigned physician. The Medical Assistant is also expected to precept current MA team members or MA Externs when requested by leadership.
