About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a high school band teacher to join our school team as soon as possible. The band teacher would instruct students across grade levels and sections. Some continuing students from a KIPP middle school will have a foundation in band instruction while new students may not have been exposed to band instruction. The band teacher will coordinate and supervise performances. They will inventory instruments. As the school grows, the band/music team would ensure students are exposed to band instruction and allow every student to have access to an instrument. Long-term, the vision for the band is to include a marching band, a jazz ensemble, and a drumline. We are seeking a teacher who will be committed to providing quality music education that complements a rigorous academic program. The band teacher would have a vision for band performances that they plan and run smoothly. This position would work closely with the electives department. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader. Please note the location of Bold City High School is the McDuff campus located at 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
