Challenge is #QualityDriven and #PeoplePowered! Maintain, troubleshoot and repair powered industrial equipment (Electric and Propane). Perform preventative maintenance on powered industrial equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on Hilo batteries. Conduct training and certification of Material Handlers. Assist Fabricators and participate in installation of new equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret and troubleshoot using mechanical and electrical prints
  • Ability to use hand tools properly
  • Ability to operate tool room equipment (lathe, Bridgeport, drill press)
  • Ability to practice and follow Challenge’s safety policy and procedures
  • Ability to locate and troubleshoot the root cause of issues
  • Strong understanding of mechanical processes
  • Ability to lift/move material weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work as a contributing member within team environment
  • Ability to train and instruct
  • Has high standards of performance for self.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Mechanical certification in powered industrial equipment repair (Hilo, scissor lift, man lift)
  • Total Trax or similar reporting system
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must possess a forklift service technician certificate, or successfully complete a forklift service technician training within 3 months
  • Industrial truck and aerial platform licenses
  • Must be able to pass basic mechanical aptitude test (BMAT)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (i.e., word, excel, outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair powered industrial equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on powered industrial equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Hilo batteries
  • Preventative maintenance is performed monthly on all powered industrial equipment.
  • Addresses issues with safety inspection fails on a daily basis. Hydraulic hose replacement.
  • Respond to emergency repairs to powered industrial equipment.
  • Utilize and generate reports in Total Trax.
  • Conduct training and certification of Material Handlers.
