Position Summary: The Warehouse Professional/HiLo Operator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely flow of product from receipt to selection via safe operation of a Hi-Lo machine. This role is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of orders placed in racks/pick bins for selection.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • at least two years of progressively responsible warehouse experience required
  • Proficient in basic math and reading
  • basic computer skills preferred
  • Experience with Hi-Lo operation as well as other material handling equipment
  • Must pass ServSafe Food Handler Guide for Food Banking within 3 months of starting in position
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards required as well as the ability to pass both written and machine operating test
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and assess weights and judge distances and heights
  • High degree of attention required
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and quality standards
  • Ensure proper and safe operation of forklift (Hi-Lo) and other material handling equipment
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers/trucks using proper handling procedures
  • Inspect for any infestation/leaks and notify manager immediately of such
  • Organize product according to established procedures
  • Choose product for selection using the FEFO method, ensuring that it is in satisfactory condition before being placed in racks/pick bins and is tagged accordingly
  • Inform manager of slow moving or near code product
  • Maintain cleanliness and storage of equipment and report on malfunctions
  • Accurately and efficiently locate and select using approved equipment (scanners) and procedures (FEFO method) as needed
  • Participate in physical inventories as required
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Perform other duties as needed
