About The Position

The IT Help Desk Technician effectively and efficiently provides Tier I & Tier II support by assisting employees and members with hardware and software issues as they arise. Additionally, this person is responsible for installing and configuring hardware and software as well as monitoring security logs and reporting suspicious activity to the IT Help Desk Manager.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 and later
  • Some knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Office 2019 and later
  • Basic network configurations – TCP/IP
  • Basic printer configurations
  • Operating system and software upgrades
  • Computer setup and deployment
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues on Windows workstations
  • Troubleshoot printer issues
  • Install software and hardware upgrades
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Associate’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Sciences or equivalent experience plus one year of IT related experience.

  • Desktop or Microsoft certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier I & Tier II support by assisting employees with hardware and software issues as they arise.
  • Remote support provided by using either phone, email and chat to staff and members.
  • Installs and configures hardware, including workstations, printers, phones, etc.
  • Installs and configures various workstation software. Updates workstation software and operating system patches as they become available.
  • Creates and maintains workstation documentation.
  • Interacts with various hardware/software 3rd party vendors to resolve issues.
  • Monitors server and device logs for unusual activity and reports suspicious traffic to management.
  • Performs workstation hardware upgrades based on the replacement cycle.
  • Maintains the IT asset database, tracking all hardware and basic configurations.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, if needed.
