About The Position

As an intern, you will have hands-on exposure to key responsibilities across multiple job functions, with the potential to transition into a full-time position after the internship.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of healthcare systems or billing/finance a plus (but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Verifying patient insurance benefits and documenting inpatient progress notes.
  • Following up with patients to ensure payment of outstanding co-pays, balances, coinsurance, etc.
  • Responding to patient calls regarding billing questions and financial policies.
  • Conducting patient consultations to review and answer questions about financial policies.
  • Requesting insurance authorizations and reviewing benefits and coverage from insurance providers.
  • Assisting with manual and electronic payment postings, including handling Prop 56 data entry.
  • Performing reconciliation of payment postings and reviewing 1099 forms from insurance.
  • Assisting in invoicing, payment processing, and creating financial reports.
  • Conducting data entry tasks and updating financial records for clients.
  • Supporting the healthcare administration team with organizing documents, scheduling meetings, and maintaining client accounts.
  • Assisting with credentialing, verifying and updating medical professional information.
  • Writing correspondence, maintaining office policies, and preparing regular reports.
  • Helping with administrative tasks related to client site visits and supporting the healthcare team in meeting compliance standards.
