About The Position

The Division of Medical and Dental Directors – Bureau of Medical Review is seeking a Healthcare Organizational Operations Administrator to support daily operations within the Center of Operational Excellence. The Bureau is responsible for prior approval and pre‑payment review of medical equipment and services, policy development, and fraud/waste/abuse monitoring for the New York State Medicaid Program. The Center of Operational Excellence drives process improvement initiatives to achieve cost savings and enhance staff efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of administrative experience
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Ability to work independently while remaining flexible and innovative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage both internal and external inquiries professionally

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review medical claims in accordance with established procedures
  • Respond to routine phone inquiries related to claims review activities
  • Escalate complex issues and claims as appropriate
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in all interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
