We are seeking a motivated, team-oriented Healthcare Director of Security to oversee operations for a major hospital and regional properties in the Yuma area. This leader will work directly with hospital administration while supporting and developing a diverse security team of 50+ personnel.

Requirements

• Law enforcement or military background with supervisorial oversight of numbers of 30 or more
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a large security department or equivalent
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a sizable workforce
• Experience working directly with clients in a professional setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Valid Arizona driver's license with acceptable driving record (Or ability to attain)
• Current Arizona security officer license (no disciplinary actions)
• Proficiency with computers and Office functions
• IAHSS Basic & Supervisor Healthcare Security Training (Required within 90 days of hire)
• AHA CPR/BLS Certification (Required within 90 days of hire)
• Workplace violence prevention training (Required within 90 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare experience is strongly encouraged
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Bilingual (Spanish)
• Experience training staff in de-escalation techniques

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all healthcare security operations in the region
• Manage, train, and develop 50+ security officers, supervisors, and managers
• Serve as the primary liaison between Covey Security and hospital leadership
• Ensure regulatory compliance and contractual performance standards
• Maintain emergency preparedness and workplace violence prevention programs in conjunction with hospital management
• Monitor staffing, scheduling, and operational efficiency
• Foster a professional, accountable, and inclusive team culture
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, including facility coverage, KPI/contract performance
