The Newborn Screening Hearing Follow-Up Supervisor serves as a Health Program Manager III and is responsible for work of considerable difficulty in planning, implementing, and administering statewide newborn hearing screening follow-up activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and effective follow-up for newborns and infants who do not pass or do not receive a newborn hearing screening directly impacting public health outcomes, agency operations, and financial stewardship. As a newborn hearing screening manager, this role is distinguished by its broad scope and complexity, requiring mastery of technical program guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and independent decision-making. The supervisor leads a team of professional follow-up personnel, overseeing daily work, setting performance standards, and ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates.
