About The Position

The Health Information Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of complex projects involving the planning, design, and implementation of EHR (electronic health record) software applications.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field
  • Experience: Two years of Healthcare Technology experience. EHR experience with direct clinical experience. Training and Customer Service experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs. Software implementation, Multiple EMR Systems. Medical records/abstraction, Reports
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Good interpersonal skills, relate appropriately with clients, Northeastern Center staff and the general public.
  • Knowledge and understanding of outpatient and continuing care office requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar and commercial arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of medical and psychological terminology.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize, keep complex records, assemble data and prepare reports.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented.

  • Licenses/Certification: RHIT Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Obtain expert level of knowledge on Streamline SmartCare EHR.
  • Provide technical and program support for the EHR.
  • Oversee report generation and dissemination to each department.
  • Oversee generation of the monthly billing reports and submit them to the Center’s billing company.
  • Ongoing risk review and analysis.
  • Optimization of EHR utilization and workflows.
  • Manage all aspects of the Clinical Records Department.
  • Records retention/storage/disposal
  • Supervision of staff
  • Oversee Clinical Records Committee
  • Analyze and verifies the completeness of the EHR.
  • Stays up to date on Coding and Billing changes.
  • Completes work related trainings timely as assigned or requested. (I.e., Relias, Risk Management, PSO, DCS, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
