About The Position

We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician II Mentor to function as a Therapeutic Support Specialist II Mentor at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Forensic Services Unit (FSU) B0. This position will work on the Forensic Services Unit specifically primary care unit Forensic Medium (B0). The primary purpose of this position is to monitor patients and perform technical procedures (within scope of practice). Responsibilities include but not limited to: assisting patients with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, assisting with hospital/unit –based programming, engaging patients in behavioral activities, & following ordered patient care. All healthcare duties are delegated by and completed under the supervisor of a Licensed Nurse.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR certification within 60 days
  • Valid driver's license
  • This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
  • All employees are required to adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of a certified nursing assistant (including bio-statistical data such as vital signs, lab work and specimen collections)
  • Knowledge of patient interactions involving behavioral, physical and medical interventions (within scope)
  • Ability to work with behaviorally difficult patients while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
