About The Position

The Julian F. Keith Alcohol & Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK ADATC) is currently accepting applications for a Health Care Technician I/Admissions. • Act as the primary host in welcoming the clients to the facility, assist the Nurse in the Admission Process, orient the patients to the unit, meal and medication times, their rights, and their responsibilities. • Manage the milieu on the unit through close observation and interaction with all patients. • Work closely with patients and have the ability to use Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) approved de-escalation techniques, to ensure the safety of patients and staff by completing required CPI training. • Collect lab specimens, assist in emergency procedures under the direction of an RN and maintain equipment supplies and forms. He/she will assist the Medical Staff by sitting in on exams as needed. Maintain dietary supplies for the unit. • Keep client’s rooms free of clutter. Be alert of safety issues and initiate response as indicated. • Other duties as delegated by and completed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
