About The Position

UPMC Health Plan and WorkPartners is hiring a full-time Health and Performance Coordinator. This is a hybrid role that will predominantly work remotely with occasional onsite presence in the office in downtown Pittsburgh's US Steel Tower. At times, this role may involve travel throughout the Pittsburgh area. This position provides leadership, development, and management expertise in all aspects of departmental operations. As a member of UPMC Health Plan's WorkPartners team the Health, andPerformance Coordinator supports strategy, collaboration and integration specific to the engagement of the UPMC WorkPartners employee populations in UPMC Health Plan and other commercial and community provider's health management programs and services. Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Health Operations, the Health, Safety and Performance Coordinator supports projects and initiatives that intersect multiple departments, and impact the overriding goals of improving the health status and overall productivity of the UPMC Health System. The Health, Safety and Performance Coordinator accelerates progress on key initiatives by facilitating inter-departmental communication, establishing goals for inter-departmental operations, defining and implementing interdepartmental processes, and monitoring progress against goals within WorkPartners', MyHealth@Work Centers Health, Safety and Performance Coordinator will leverage project management skills to prioritize and complete all assigned tasks, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting all MyHealth@Work areas, and interacting with all levels of the MyHealth@Work and Health Promotion Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, health education, nutrition, exercise physiology, counseling, social work, public health or a related field required OR equivalent work experience in business or health related area.
  • 4 years of experience in health-related field required.
  • Driver's license and own vehicle strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Management experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Proven ability to gain trust and credibility with physicians, various internal department staff and all clients and patients that visit the MyHealth@Work clinics.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and reach agreement among diverse groups.
  • Ability to work closely with physicians and other health professionals to deliver a comprehensive physical evaluation.
  • Ability and willingness to learn of the clinical aspects of occupational and employee health.
  • Ability and willingness to learn of Workers' Compensation rules and regulations, Infectious Disease, Safety, and ADA requirements, standards, and/or regulations.
  • Self-motivation, assertiveness and independent decision-making skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of the range of treatment needed by the patients served.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and define barriers to change with internal clients; devise plans to address change barriers and ensure acceptance of the change process.
  • Learn and understand objectives, processes, workflow and outcomes within UPMC WorkPartners and MyHealth@Work lines of business.
  • Travel to various My Health@Work Locations in the Western PA area as needed.
  • Coordinate with business leaders and/or relevant experts in resolving issues.
  • Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and cross-functional resources and ensure that the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific project roles.
  • Plan and execute communication of complex information to team members and stakeholder groups.
  • Develop measures of engagement success of health management programs and initiatives and influence necessary changes to ensure they deliver the highest value to members and the Health Plan.
  • Learn and Understand objectives, processes, workflow and outcomes within the UPMC Health Plan health coaching area.
  • Plan and execute communication of complex information to team members and stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate with business leaders and/or relevant experts in resolving issues.
  • Facilitate communication, exchange of resources and collaboration between internal team members.
  • Ensure that a process for training, implementation, monitoring and evaluation is in place for new programs and initiatives launched.
  • Learn and Understand Software /Database workflows for My Health@Work and UPMC WorkPartners lines of business.
  • Learn and Understand objectives, processes, workflow and outcomes within UPMC WorkPartners lines of business.
  • Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and cross-functional resources and ensure that the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific project roles.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize employee/employer outcomes thru effective integration of UPMC WorkPartners lines of business.
  • Ensure that a process for training, implementation, monitoring and evaluation is in place for new programs and initiatives launched.
