About The Position

The Head Swim Coach is responsible for the management and on-site supervision of assigned competitive aquatics programs. These duties include, but are not limited to, creating fun & competitive environment, maintaining communication with parents, supervision of program participants, and ensuring safety of all members of the team. This is a part-time position with an average work week of around 19 hours.

Requirements

• Prior experience in coaching competitive aquatic programs.
• Valid Illinois Class “D” Driver’s License.
• Attain (within six (6) months of employment) and maintain valid Adult CPR/AED, First Aid Certification, TIPS certification.

Responsibilities

• Seeks to develop competitive swimming skills, knowledge, and values through practices, clinics, and other team activities.
• Supervises Assistant Coaches and other personnel scheduled to work assigned programs.
• Assists with training of Assistant Coaches.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of attendance, progress, performance and injuries to participants.
• Attends all practices, competitive meets, parents meetings, coaches meetings, and skill trainings, participating in skill and procedure reviews.
• Responsible for completing and administering performance reviews for coaching staff.
• Assures that assigned facilities are setup according to Aquatic Department standards for the activities scheduled during assigned programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
