About The Position

The Head Swim Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Club’s swim program, fostering a positive, inclusive, and development-focused environment for swimmers ages 3–18. This role provides strategic leadership, hands-on coaching, and administrative oversight to ensure a high-quality experience for swimmers, members, and staff year-round.

Requirements

  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • Must provide valid documents to work in the U.S
  • At least 2+ years relevant work experience as a Swim Coach
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Professional, enthusiastic and engaging personality
  • Self-motivated
  • This position requires a flexible schedule for working evenings, weekends, and all holidays as determined by business need.
  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry at least 40-50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to handle indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Public speaking at meetings and events

Responsibilities

  • Teach private and semi-private lessons
  • Attend four PISC meetings per year
  • Assist Director of Athletics & Recreation with all seasonal prep including shirts / apparel / social plans / equipment readiness / gift ribbons from PISC chair
  • Know how to use league specific software (Team Topia)
  • Plan & execute social activities
  • Have extensive knowledge of swimming and be able to coach all abilities and ages
  • Manage and supervise all assistant coaches during summer season
  • Lead all practices for the Swim Team (ages 3-18) composed of members and grandchildren
  • Teach group swim lessons year round
  • Administrative duties and attendance for swim meets including working with dual team to import to meet manager
  • Be self-motivated
  • Have excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Replying to emails, sending email communication out to the team
  • Acquiring parent volunteers and ensuring the team has a PISL representative at all league meetings
  • Working with the youth committee to market programs
  • It may be necessary to work in other areas of the Club and help others when the occasion arises. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or directed
