About The Position

Large Financial Institutions (FIs) operate some of the most complex IT environments in the world. Cobalt provides an AI-powered lens into these systems, helping FIs map, analyze, and manage their infrastructure in real-time. We enable CIOs and CTOs to reduce risk, accelerate modernization, and gain full visibility into their technical landscape. The Role As our Founding Head of Sales, your primary focus is to establish our initial footprint within the banking sector. You will be building the go-to-market playbook from scratch and be responsible for initiating high-level relationships and securing our first wave of Proof of Concepts (POCs). This is a hands-on role for a strategic leader who enjoys the challenge of introducing a transformative technology to sophisticated enterprise buyers.

  • Technical Fluency: Ability to discuss enterprise architecture and IT risk with confidence and clarity.

  • Execution Focus: A disciplined approach to managing long, complex sales cycles with a focus on long-term relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnerships: Leverage your extended network to engage key decision-makers (CTOs, Heads of Infrastructure, Enterprise Architects) at Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks.
  • Drive POCs: Lead the end-to-end process for Pilot programs, from initial discovery to successful execution and conversion.
  • Navigate Procurement: Guide our platform through the complex security, compliance, and legal reviews unique to the financial services industry.
  • Market Intelligence: Work closely with Cobalt’s founders to refine our value proposition based on direct feedback from the field.
  • GTM: Develop the initial sales infrastructure, collateral and outreach strategies that will serve as the blueprint for our future sales team.
  • Build the Foundation: As we scale, you will lay the groundwork for the future sales organization, including hiring and territory management.
