About The Position

We’re launching a women's health intelligence platform that delivers personalized, longitudinal care across every life stage. We're building what the healthcare system has failed to provide: a comprehensive view of women's health that connects the dots between symptoms, lab results, lifestyle factors, and the hormonal shifts that influence everything from mood and energy to fertility and cognition. As an early Software Engineer, you'll be a key builder of the platform from day one. This is a high-impact role at an early-stage startup where you'll work across the stack—building features, integrating data sources, and contributing to the AI-powered systems that make our health intelligence possible. You don't need healthcare experience—we'll teach you the domain. What we need is someone who's technically sharp, learns fast, ships code, and thrives in a scrappy environment where you'll touch everything from backend APIs to data pipelines to user-facing features. You'll grow quickly here, with direct mentorship and exposure to the full breadth of building a product from scratch.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of software engineering experience, including internships or research roles. You've built and shipped real software—whether in a job, a research lab, or meaningful personal projects.
  • You write clean, efficient code and are comfortable with Python and engineering best practices.
  • Full-stack capable or eager to learn. Experience with backend development (APIs, databases) and willingness to pick up frontend work as needed. Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or similar is a plus.
  • Comfortable with cloud infrastructure. Basic experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. You can deploy code and aren't afraid of infrastructure.
  • Excited about AI-native development. You already use Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools—or you're eager to. You see AI as a way to accelerate your work and learning.
  • Self-directed and scrappy. You thrive with autonomy, figure things out independently, and take ownership. You're comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong communicator. You can explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates across disciplines.
  • Motivated by impact. You care about building something meaningful. You're excited about a product that improves real health outcomes for women.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to machine learning concepts. You've trained models, worked with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, sklearn), or built AI-powered features. You don't need to be an expert—but you're not starting from zero.
  • Experience building multi-agent AI systems or working with LLMs
  • Experience at an early-stage startup or in a high-autonomy research environment
  • Graduate coursework or specialization in machine learning

Responsibilities

  • Build Core Platform Features
  • Develop backend services, APIs, and user-facing features across the platform. You'll work on everything from symptom tracking to lab result visualization to treatment recommendations.
  • Integrate Data Sources
  • Build integrations with wearables (Oura, Apple Health, Whoop, Garmin), lab providers, and other health data sources. Create pipelines that ingest, normalize, and store data reliably.
  • Contribute to AI/ML Systems
  • Work alongside senior engineers to build and improve our health intelligence engine—including conversational AI, recommendation models, and pattern detection. Prior ML exposure is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ship Fast and Iterate
  • We're early stage. You'll ship code frequently, get feedback from real users, and iterate quickly. Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action are key.
  • Build with AI-Native Tools
  • Use Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI-assisted development tools daily. We embrace vibe coding and expect you to leverage AI to move faster and learn faster.
  • Learn the Healthcare Domain
  • You'll pick up health data concepts, compliance basics (HIPAA), and clinical terminology as you go. We'll support your learning—curiosity matters more than prior experience here.

Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid, comprehensive health care including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.
  • Paid maternity and paternity for 14 weeks at employees' normal pay.
  • Unlimited PTO, with management approval.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continued learning with educational reimbursements.
  • Optional 401K, FSA, and equity incentives available.
  • Mental health benefits through TARA Mind.
  • We’re an Equal Opportunity Employer: You’ll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability.
