The Role As Head of Payroll & Benefits , you will own the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of payroll and benefits operations across a growing, multi-state organization. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability while partnering closely with HR and Finance to support both our people and our long-term growth.

Requirements

Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll operations
Background supporting organizations with 500+ employees
Demonstrated leadership of payroll teams and processes
Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and state tax regulations
Experience administering employee benefits programs
Proven ability to manage commissions and bonus structures
Strategic mindset with strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Direct end-to-end payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
Oversee multi-state payroll processing and state tax reporting requirements
Maintain payroll systems, schedules, and data integrity
Lead, mentor, and develop payroll team members
Partner with HR and Finance leadership on payroll and benefits strategy
Manage employee benefits administration, including self-funded plans
Coordinate with payroll vendors, benefits partners, and internal/external auditors
Produce and analyze payroll and benefits reports for executive leadership
Oversee complex payroll components such as commissions, bonuses, and incentive pay
