About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned, proactive, and self-assured individual to spearhead our Cheil Dallas New Business Team. As the Head of Growth, your role entails driving, strategizing, and overseeing efforts to acquire new business opportunities beyond existing clients and encompassing agency marketing initiatives. This role requires a persuasive, charismatic leader who can build strong relationships across the agency’s leadership team. You excel at generating enthusiasm, gaining buy-in, and motivating cross-functional teams to engage in new business pursuits while actively representing Cheil in the local market as a visible ambassador of our brand and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, and other communications fields preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development experience in an agency environment.
  • A proven track record for growing new revenue and new business opportunities.
  • B2C, Experiential, Performance Marketing, Media experience desired, expertise across all is not expected.
  • Existing intermediary/search consultant and industry press relationships.
  • Demonstrated skills in dynamic leadership, team building, and team management.
  • An understanding of the market landscape in the US – big players, industry bodies, key events, biggest influencers, agency competitors.
  • Local/regional market experienced highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high energy and vibrancy.
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop, sell-in, and manage business strategies, plans and business cases.
  • Strong presentation and senior client-facing skills.
  • Extreme sensitivity to and respect for working in confidentiality.
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Dallas with flexibility of a hybrid in-office work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual plan for new business-building efforts, including prospecting and agency marketing to achieve annual agency goals
  • Develop and manage a forward-looking growth pipeline and lead quarterly business reviews with leadership to measure performance against plan.]
  • Own the marketing plan inclusive of credentials, reel, website, social, industry speaking engagements, organization memberships and more
  • Own search consultant relationships and prospecting efforts
  • Lead the delivery of RFIs, RFPs and pitches for new business opportunities
  • Work collaboratively across the Cheil affiliate network – driving opportunities with multiple agencies as needed.
  • Track, monitor, and report on business development performance, including budget management, against plan.
  • Work with PR/communications partner to develop a strategy for business and industry press to elevate Cheil.
  • Attend key industry and local market events to network, identify opportunities, and represent the agency.
  • Lead a high-performing business development and marketing team fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.] (e.g., Deliverables may include team meetings, facilitating brainstorming sessions, drafting briefs, conducting reviews, and preparing necessary presentation materials).
  • Maintain knowledge of industry events, market trends and emerging competitors.
  • Manage and grow the new business contact database through Hubspot.
  • Maintain knowledge of the work, the talent and the core capabilities within the agency.
  • Collaborate with Account Services, PMO, Strategy, Creative, Innovation and Production leaders to identify organic growth opportunities and shape proposals that integrate Cheil’s full capabilities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define and evolve Cheil’s growth strategy, client acquisition priorities, and positioning in the Dallas market.
  • Champion Cheil’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a culture of belonging and ensuring inclusive representation in new business narratives.
