About The Position

David AI is the first audio data research company, focused on developing high-quality datasets for advanced AI systems. Founded in 2024 by former Scale AI engineers and operators, the company has quickly secured major customers and raised $50M in Series B funding. The team is described as sharp, humble, ambitious, and tight-knit, aiming to push the frontier of audio AI. The Forward Deployed team works closely with customers to translate strategy into action, ensuring meaningful impact and accelerating David AI's evolution. This specific role, Head of Deployment Strategy, leads the Forward Deployed team and is responsible for the outcomes across the customer portfolio. It's a player-coach role, involving setting direction, building operating cadences, developing the team, and directly managing key customer relationships. The Head of Deployment Strategy will collaborate cross-functionally with research, engineering, product, and operations to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in deployment strategy, forward deployment, or go to market roles, with 3+ years managing a team responsible for customer outcomes and revenue targets.
• A track record of owning complex customer relationships, and consistently delivering.
• Familiar with the AI model development lifecycle, with strong technical intuition for what makes high-quality training data for advanced AI systems.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, with the ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders at Fortune 50 companies.
• Proven project management expertise with high attention to detail and exceptional organizational ability—both for your own work and in managing the output of a team.
• Deep experience building and managing cooperative relationships across technical teams and senior executives.
• Success thriving in dynamic, undefined situations, contributing to both the design and execution of solutions.

• Education or professional experience with CS, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or other STEM fields.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data science-related programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and develop a team of Deployment Strategists, setting clear expectations and ensuring consistent execution across the customer portfolio.
• Own retention, expansion, and overall health of David AI's customer relationships.
• Build and steward the Forward Deployment team’s operating model including account planning, pipeline management, QBRs, etc.
• Develop our playbook for customer engagement models, spanning pricing and packaging for one-off dataset sales to long-term customer commitments.
• Partner closely with the research team to design experiments and deliver data-driven recommendations on customer evaluation needs.
• Build and foster strong relationships at the most senior levels within customer organizations, stepping in directly on the highest-stakes accounts.
• Develop new opportunities across accounts by identifying where David AI's data and research insights can add value.
