The platform's daily auctions feature an ever-changing selection of art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, and antiques, with most items starting at a $1 bid. EBTH aims to be the premier online destination for secondhand goods, upholding the 'EBTH Promise' to ensure customer satisfaction. The company is seeking a Head of Business Development to lead efforts in sourcing uncommon goods and promoting services that enhance people's lives. The ideal candidate is a sales leader adept at converting strategy into measurable team outcomes, possessing a deep understanding of the modern sales lifecycle, including generating leads, cultivating relationships, and closing deals. This is a demanding role within a dynamic company, supported by a passionate team committed to revolutionizing the sale, purchase, and movement of personal property nationwide.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years experience as a Business Development Manager.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience managing and leading a high-performing sales or business development team.
  • Previous B2B sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding plans.
  • Ability to confidently and professionally sell our service, our expertise, and our value to prospective clients (you must be knowledgeable and passionate about our unique service offering!).
  • A healthy mix of drive to grow the EBTH brand and business, and empathy to ensure our clients are satisfied with our service.
  • High level of comfort with technology and Salesforce.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel in and out of the market.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent exp preferred.
  • Experience in ecommerce, secondhand marketplaces and appraisals, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor Business Development Managers across our existing and emerging markets.
  • Participate in strategy and budget planning to guide the overall direction of the Business Development organization.
  • Sell our unique and one-of-a-kind consignment and estate sales services.
  • Generate your own lead flow by making sales presentations, attending local events, networking, and building relationships with referral partners (real estate agents, financial planners, stagers, senior move managers, etc).
  • Actively manage current lead flow and sales inquiries (phone calls, emails, and inquiries generated through our website).
  • Nurture and grow relationships with secondhand enthusiasts, individuals, business owners, affluent advocates, and overall influencers in the collector, art, design, fashion, and antique community.
  • Travel to events and meetings via car or plane to other markets, as needed.
  • Work directly with our local Operations Teams to drive business, provide an excellent seller experience, and keep our sales pipeline full (and growing month after month!).
  • Consistently monitor sales pipeline + auction results to ensure inventory is meeting profitability value thresholds.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and trends.
