Part Time Head Coach Basketball
About The Position
The Head Coach of Basketball is responsible for all aspects of coaching, recruiting and administering of the varsity basketball program along with being a relentless supporter of Lorain County Community College and its athletics department. This player development-driven coach will be responsible for leading the basketball program. Collegiate recruiting experience is preferred but not required for this position. The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations of the College, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). This is a part-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Athletic Director.
Requirements
- Three years coaching basketball & recruiting experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated recruiting and retention success at a higher educational institution.
- Solid administrative skills with the ability to communicate and motivate staff to achieve goals.
- Willingness to interact comfortably with individuals and constituency groups that are crucial to the advancement of the baseball program along with the department and institution.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Associate degree or better required/Bachelor’s degree or better preferred.
- Competitive – Driven to educate and coach with the will to earn sustainable success.

- Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.

- Monitoring student-athlete academic performance.

- Developing and managing the program’s budget.
- Fund-raising to support the program’s operational budget.
- Hire, supervise, and develop assistant coaches.
