About The Position

The Server-Side Engineer will be responsible for the development, operations, and support of the core commerce platform as well as microservices that enable seamless and relevant digital commerce experiences across key customer touchpoints (web, mobile, iOS, and Android). In this role, you will collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders, internal teams, and external technology partners that support the digital commerce platform, its development, and its operations. Responsibilities also include technical leadership, mentoring, and leading project initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a related field, including at least 2 years in eCommerce.
Experience with web architecture and IT security best practices (e.g., SOX, PCI).
Experience in designing and developing microservices-based back-end systems using Spring Boot.
Familiarity with modern server-side technologies such as REST, JPA, Kafka, and Swagger.
Experience writing unit tests and API tests.
Experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, deployment, and production support.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to formulate innovative problem-solving approaches.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong technical, analytical, and customer-service skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Ability to quickly learn new software and maintain proficiency with evolving technologies.
Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience with eCommerce implementation on WebSphere/HCL Commerce Suite is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute technical projects that impact consumer-facing digital experiences.
Build and maintain features within WebSphere/HCL Commerce Suite environments and Spring Boot–based microservices.
Implement rapid changes to support evolving business and marketing requirements.
Ensure implementations meet required scalability, performance, and reliability standards for digital operations.
Analyze and diagnose issues that may affect performance or availability within the eCommerce environment.
Develop functional and technical documentation for assigned projects.
Collaborate within a team environment to support shared goals and improve engineering practices.
Partner closely with organizational stakeholders, technology partners, and members of the Digital Product Engineering team to ensure timely delivery of project commitments.
Write high-quality code that adheres to performance, scalability, and security best practices.
Troubleshoot issues alongside business partners and support teams.
Participate in agile-scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Continuously enhance platforms by incorporating modern retail technology trends to support business strategies.
