Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for an onsite Hardware Quality Specialist (4th Shift) position at our Andover, MA location. As a Quality Technical Business Support teammate embedded within the Radio Frequency Components team, you will be a highly valued team member, bringing product and process compliance skills and expertise to drive defect prevention and process compliance and improvement.

Requirements

  • Typically requires AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience. Relevant experience is working in a manufacturing / factory environment as an assembler, operator or inspector
  • Six (6) years of experience in general hardware inspection
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with accept and reject criteria for general quality workmanship.
  • Experience working with manufacturing processes, following work instructions, interpreting drawings and/or contractual flow downs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in semiconductor fabrication and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience inspecting MMICs with working knowledge of industry technical standards (such as MIL-STD-883)
  • Experience using a microscope
  • Past work in a Represented (union) Workforce environment.
  • Experience administering quality workmanship standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities; self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to walk back and communicate concerns to operations and support team.
  • Personal ownership and accountability, the ability to find solutions in difficult situations.
  • Proven ability to work proactively with others, driving decisions while also functioning as a team.
  • ASQ certified Inspector or work in First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Experience working in Eyelit and/or CMES to enter data.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on work with inspection methodology for compound semiconductor MMIC (Monolithic Multilayer Integrated Circuits) devices
  • Interpretation of MIL and ANSI specifications and component drawings to make confident quality dispositions of suspect nonconformances.
  • Physical inspection review of deliverable hardware as well as manufacturing documentation as required by process, technical data package, and contractual flow down.
  • Continuous improvement to strengthen manufacturing systems, processes, and/or products.
  • Support operator training where process feedback indicates a need.
  • Summarize and communicate audit and inspection findings.
