About The Position

Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. We are experiencing growth and seeking an RF Design Engineer at Lockheed Martin's Andover, MA facility. We offer an excellent working environment with a mix of cutting-edge design and genuine hands-on electronics laboratory testing and product development. This exciting RF position provides an opportunity to be a key contributor on our team of industry-leading RF design experts. What You Will Be Doing In this role, the Staff RF Engineer will support the development and production of complex multi-function modules used in challenging high reliability applications in all phases of the product life cycle. The engineer will have the opportunity to design and develop circuits, modules, and sub-systems from initial concept through prototyping and full-rate production. The engineer will work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are innovative and ingenious. The engineer is expected to work independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational products. The engineer will mentor less experienced engineers on our team. Architects and design Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuity used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test RF hardware to verify performance characteristics including simulation and modeling. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develop RF System/Subsystem Architectures may consist of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Perform link analysis and optimization with simulation and hardware validation, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develop and allocate RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and track RF technical performance measurement (TPMs). Performa RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Support Life cycle Cots, reliability, availability, maintainability analysis. The engineer will contribute to or author proposals and may participate in business capture efforts. The engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciple including hardware engineers, system engineers, and circuit design engineers as well as technician and manufacturing support personnel.
