About the Role This role owns the end to end execution of wearable hardware products , from early concept through mass production. You will sit at the center of design, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality, and you will be accountable for shipping real product, on time, at scale. This is not a lab-heavy, heads-down engineering role. If your ideal week is mostly CAD, bench testing, or detailed component design, this role will likely not be a fit. This role is for an engineer who wants to own hardware outcomes, make tradeoffs, and drive decisions across multiple functions and external partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in hardware product development, preferably consumer electronics or wearables
  • Strong understanding of full product development cycles and manufacturing ramp
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers
  • Ability to evaluate designs and identify risks across ME, EE, and system-level interactions
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional teams and hold execution accountable
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete data
  • Clear, structured communicator who can align teams quickly

Responsibilities

  • Own wearable products from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production
  • Act as the technical product owner across ME, EE, ID, firmware, QA, and manufacturing
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications and execution plans
  • Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness milestones
  • Work directly with overseas contract manufacturers and suppliers on: DFM, DFA, and cost optimization Tooling, validation builds, and yield issues Quality escapes and corrective actions
  • Make informed tradeoffs between cost, performance, schedule, and risk
  • Identify issues early and drive resolution without perfect information
  • Support sustaining engineering and post-launch improvements
