About The Position

The National Security Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Hardware and Video System Administrator to support a client’s requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located at Cape Canaveral SFB, FL. The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. The Hardware and Video System Administrator receives and responds to problems reported by customers and escalates. The Hardware and Video System Administrator will work in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with an zctive TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Launch or mission operations experience.
  • Experience supporting configuration management, change management and service transition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to perform call-in support as required.

  • ITIL Foundations certification
  • Current DoD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the availability of mission critical launch communications systems through proactive hardware maintenance.
  • Performs incident and problem management to resolve or escalate issues in order to restore service.
  • Performs request fulfillment activities including account management and configuration changes.
  • Coordinates with other maintenance, operations and engineering contracts as required.
  • Documents all work performed via ticketing system.
  • Creates, updates or enhances maintenance and operations documentation.
  • Performs daily system checks for alerts or degradation of service or system
  • Provides call-in support as required.
  • Responsible for configuration management of launch communications systems in support of launch projects.
  • Identifies configuration items, implements change control, and conducts configuration audits.
  • Creates and manages configuration and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness such as facility maps, site floor plans, rack elevations, patch panel, equipment shelf layouts, and system overviews.
  • Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into a launch system and launch related IT hardware assets.
  • Ensures that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards.
  • Uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures.
  • Ensures CM functions are adhered to: version control of configuration items such as documents, as well as the configuration management of hardware and software configuration management items.
  • Recommends change management and configuration management solutions that effectively meet customer needs.
