About The Position

The Hardscape Construction Foreman is responsible for the layout, planning, and the safe execution of the project once the tasks are assigned. They will instruct and work with a small team of construction workers on a project site, monitoring work quality and maintaining project timelines.

Requirements

The ability to read blueprints, to install stone steps, patios, walks, and walls (free standing, retaining, and veneer.)
Must be able to layout the project, including setting up the drainage and establishing the masonry grades for the project.
Experience with equipment (excavator, backhoe, skid steer, loader, trucks, trailers, transits etc…) to properly excavate the soils needed for the project.
Possess the skills to work with carbide chisels, and power tools like drills, grinders and saws with diamonds to shape and fabricate stone.
Understand the use and properties of all masonry materials. (Ex: fieldstone, granite, travertine, cobbles, bluestone, brick, concrete pavers and wall stone.)
Understand the structural elements and have the skills to install footings and compacted base for patios, walks, driveways etc.
Experience with vehicle and safety inspections
Candidates must have an insurable driving record, be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and obtain a DOT Medical Card
