About The Position

The landscape foreman directs the day-to-day activity of 2-3 technicians to complete landscape development renovations. The landscape foreman is required to work 5-6 days a week and 40+ hours depending on the nature of each season.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4-5 plus years’ experience as a Landscape Foreman overseeing landscape installation and construction crews.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and minimal moving violations.
  • Must possess a thorough working knowledge of all materials, labor, blueprints, and equipment used for the successful completion of all projects, including plant identification, installation systems, and equipment safety procedures.
  • This position involves 40-50 hrs per week of outdoor construction and as such requires working in all weather conditions and site situations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a skid steer, mini-excavator, bulldozer, rototiller, and various other landscape equipment.
  • Direct day-to-day activity for 2-3 crew members on commercial, residential properties.
  • Forecast future job planning to ensure that all projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of plant identification.
  • Utilize common landscaping tools such as shovels, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrows, construction saws, block breakers, brick tongs, brick barrows, tree dollies, spade, edging shovels, sledgehammers, and maul axes to complete landscape development renovations.
  • Utilize power equipment such as construction saws, sod cutters, bed edging machines, demo saws, circular saws, cordless drills, gas-powered hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and prybars to complete landscape development renovations.
  • Operate the following heavy-duty equipment such as trenchers, skid steers, mini excavators, stump grinders, jackhammers, and tampers (mechanical and manual).
  • Lift and plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and other various plants.
  • Dig 3ft or greater holes and trenches for plantings, footers, and drainage.
  • Load and unload plant material and construction material from truck beds.
  • Building retaining walls using 80 pounds blocks.
  • Construct boulder walls using natural boulders up to 500lbs. This can be done using various construction tools such as pry bars.
  • Lay pavers, weighing from 5-25lbs, to create walkways and patios.
  • Pour and finish concrete using lutes.
  • Lead crew during the construction of patios, decks, fire features, water features, outdoor kitchens, and plantings.
  • Complete all job duties in a timely manner to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and without delay.
  • Work closely with Landscape Architects to ensure projects are meeting the customer's needs and expectations.
