About The Position

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the gymnastics department facility.

Requirements

  • Certifications required within 30 days of hire: American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid; the following training provided by the Y: Appropriate Touch, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Managing your Risk of Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, Aquatics Safety at the Pool, Hazard Communication for Employees, Social Media & Digital, Communications, Safe Lifting, Harassment Prevention, Preventing Member and Guest Slips, Trips, and Falls, Risk Management 101
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to consistently work scheduled shifts and attend staff meetings.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment, handling multiple tasks concurrently.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous gymnastics experience preferred.
  • Prior administrative/managerial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Model and teach team members and coach the qualities of the Y’s core character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  • Handle check in and out area.
  • Assist families with program registrations, ETF, understand/be able to explain the differences between classes (colors, ages, skills, levels).
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with coaches, gymnasts, and their families.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with children, families, staff, and members.
  • Handles home and away meet preparation, fees, and clean up.
  • Assist in the retention of existing members and engagement of new members by being knowledgeable of programming offered.
  • Ensure that program standards are met, and safety procedures consistently followed.
  • Respond to and report accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
  • Assist and ensure safety of all staff and children in program areas.
  • Assist in monitoring staff schedules to maintain proper ratios and stay within budget and adjusting as needed.
  • Provide resources and new programming ideas for gymnastics events and other programs.
  • Engage in active listening and model relationship-building skills in all interactions with members, volunteers, guests, and staff members to build relationships and communicate our cause.
  • Provide parent feedback to Gymnastics Director to implement or improve program offerings.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
