Mountain Recreation is seeking a passionate and experienced Gymnastics Coordinator to assist the Gymnastics Supervisor in a front-line role helping to coach gymnastics programs including our Ascent Gymnastics team, gymnastics camps, facility programming, and trampoline classes. This position will help put programs into our programs system, help oversee staff, assist in creating schedules and process payroll.

Requirements

  • Two years of college coursework with an emphasis in a related field; AND
  • Two years of progressive work experience in a closely related recreation or gymnastics position; OR
  • Any satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of this position.
  • USA Gymnastics Certification (required)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification within first 90 days of employment (required within the first 90 days of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Gymnastics Supervisor in planning, implementing, and organizing recreation programs and services while providing front-line coaching and instruction as needed.
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality instructional training to participants and effectively communicating with children and parents/guardians.
  • Leads, trains, and assigns instructors, volunteers, coaches, and part-time staff, ensuring programs are delivered safely and successfully.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including managing program records, registration software, and meet preparation activities, in support of overall program operations and organizational goals.
  • Plans, coordinates, supervises, and delivers gymnastics activities in support of departmental and community service goals.
  • Coaches and instructs participants across the full program spectrum, from toddler and preschool classes through advanced and team-level gymnastics.
  • Leads and supervises gymnastics, trampoline, and ninja classes and programs with energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Coordinates and oversees gymnastics-based camp programming during summer and school break periods.
  • Attend gymnastics meets as assigned during meet season; weekend and travel commitments are required.
  • Supports the competitive team program by assisting with the development and choreography of beam and floor routines.
  • Participates in hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll of part-time staff, emphasizing teamwork, efficiency, and high-quality customer service; contributes to staff evaluation to promote productivity and program excellence.
  • Collaborate with Facility Supervisors to schedule program space for special events, birthday parties, and activities outside regular operating hours.
  • Communicates class cancellations, schedule changes, and added classes to participants and instructors; processes refunds and responds to program-related correspondence.
  • Assists in the development of new programs and services aligned with Mountain Recreation’s mission, goals, and community needs.
  • Promotes a safe environment by clearly communicating and enforcing gymnastics center rules, policies, and guidelines; communicates effectively with both participants and parents/guardians.
  • Meets the physical and emotional demands of the position, including proper spotting techniques, equipment setup, and safe instruction practices to ensure participant’s safety.
  • Demonstrates the aptitude and professionalism to coach participants of all ages and skill levels, providing clear, positive, and effective instruction.
  • Communicates concerns, incidents, and facility or equipment repair needs to the direct supervisor in a timely manner; provides courteous and attentive customer service.
  • Places participants appropriately within recreational class levels and monitors progression.
  • Completes skill charts and attendance records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Make consistent progress toward obtaining and maintaining required credentials and certifications.
  • Assists with equipment setup and breakdown, facility preparation, and cleaning as needed.
  • Completes all required records, reports, and documentation.
  • Attends District and departmental meetings as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
