All camps share a common purpose: creating an environment where Young Life staff bring Christ to life by creatively presenting the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. Speaking clearly from the Scriptures, camp speakers introduce kids to the person of Christ, the nature of humanity, the work of Christ on the cross, the hope of the resurrection and the opportunity for reconciliation with God. Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. We recommend you read this statement before applying for any position. Position Specifics This position will serve as the Challenge Course Supervisor (CCS) at Rockbridge. Primary responsibilities include hosting guest groups, management of the challenge course program, and housekeeping. The CCS will be responsible for safety, training, and supervision of all challenge course elements across camp. This position will also have oversight of the Rockbridge Wrangler program; recruiting, training, and communicating with weekend wranglers. As a member of the Rockbridge Guest Services team, this person will play an active role in the housekeeping program; including weekly camp turnovers in the school season, session to session turnovers in the summer, periodic deep cleaning, and other tasks as needed. About Rockbridge Located 25 minutes outside of Lexington, Virginia, Young Life’s Rockbridge is a property focused on hospitality, service, and glorifying God’s creation. Lexington is a growing small town with two private universities, a charming downtown, and short drives to larger cities like Charlottesville and Roanoke. Rockbridge offers a strong community both on and off camp, with the opportunity for a healthy work/life balance. As a staff, we strive to carry out our callings in a way that emphasizes teamwork and growing in intimacy with Christ. Notes: Young Life is a relational ministry. Staff must be able to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern for guests and staff. Responding to the unexpected needs of a guest in a prompt and professional manner is important. All staff members are expected to represent Young Life positively and professionally within the community and be able to work with and minister to the volunteer high school and college-age young people who attend our camp. "We the members of the Young Life mission – trustees, staff, instructors at Young Life schools and volunteers – join together in our affirmation of the following articles and our central purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and introducing adolescents everywhere to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith."
