About The Position

This is a 7–10-week seasonal position ideal for college students on break, retirees looking for short-term work, and anyone looking to be a part of the South Carolina Aquarium. The South Carolina Aquarium is a mission-based organization that leads the way to connect people with water, wildlife, and wild places. This role is more than just ticket-selling; it's a part of the cause, offering a fun way to supplement income or gain experience in a guest-focused environment.

Requirements

Cash-handling exp required
Computer exp required
Valid driver’s license required
Friendly, outgoing, individuals who enjoy working with people
Must be available weekends, holidays, and some evening hours
Comfortable with standing for long periods of time outdoors
Team players who are flexible, adaptable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
Full availability during holidays is required
At least one weekend day is required

Nice To Haves

Public speaking exp is a plus
Experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, or customer service is a plus

Responsibilities

Warmly greet guests and provide information on pricing, programs, and initiatives
Sell and scan tickets with a smile
Promote and sell memberships
Operate fun guest experiences like our virtual reality ride next to our Great Ocean Tank
Assist guests with golf cart rides to and from the parking garage
Assist with crowd flow, safety, and organization
Use radio for communications
Orient groups that visit for field trips
Assist with opening and closing for evening events
