About The Position

This is a seasonal position lasting from March 2026 - October 2026, supports Fresno Chaffee Zoo Corporation’s mission to inspire people to care for animals, create connections, build community, and save wildlife by providing excellent guest service through daily operations at the ticket booth, giraffe feeding and stingray bay stations, and special exhibit entrances. We are pleased to offer this Part-time position an Employee Assistance Program, 401k, Paid CA Sick time on an accrued basis. The pay range for this position is $17.78 - $19.54 per hour. Offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills required.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of cash handling and point-of-sale system experience preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) communication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Interacts with Zoo guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner at all times.
Completes cash and credit card transactions for Zoo entry fees, animal feedings, and other purchases with accuracy, efficiency, and security.
Actively promotes Zoo Membership sales to guests entering the Zoo.
Actively promotes Combo tickets to guests entering the Zoo.
Actively promotes the Change Roundup Program.
Provides zoo guests with general information about Zoo operations and events.
Performs cash counts and reconciliation of cash drawer to ensure the accuracy of daily transactions.
Maintains cashier workstation in a neat, organized manner at all times.
Assist guests in the call center with ticket sales, upgrades, and field trips.
Connect our guests to the mission of the zoo.
Ensures accuracy and attention to detail in the execution of all assigned responsibilities.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
