We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Manager (Chess) to identify, test, and scale new marketing initiatives that drive user growth for Duolingo Chess. You’ll be a strategic partner across Growth, Performance Marketing, Product Marketing, the Chess product team, Analytics, and international teams—owning high-impact Chess projects end-to-end and translating data and insights into clear recommendations that accelerate Chess acquisition and reactivation globally.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a product marketing or growth marketing role at a leading consumer or gaming brand.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable with experimentation, KPI design, and structured problem solving.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives that drive measurable growth.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, product, analytics, and international partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a track record of clear, action-oriented updates.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and take end-to-end ownership.

  • SQL proficiency or analytics capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and drive new Chess growth opportunities in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Launch and analyze experiments across emerging and non-traditional channels to grow Chess users, using results to inform next steps and scaling decisions.
  • Develop frameworks and processes for channel evaluation and test-and-learn roadmaps for Chess that can scale globally.
  • Translate Chess performance data and insights into crisp strategies, recommendations, and updates for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Independently own Chess initiatives from problem framing through execution and measurement to unlock measurable user growth.
