About The Position

The Groups & Classes Ministry Assistant is responsible for helping to fulfill the mission and strategy of College Park Church by providing administrative support to ministries that help build adult education and discipleship in the church. These would include Men’s and Women’s Ministries, College Park Institute, Ignite@Work and the Resource Area. The Groups & Classes Ministry Assistant would report to the Pastor of Groups & Classes but also work closely with the Women’s Ministries team. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferred, preferably in a related field
  • Administrative experience preferably in a ministry or not-for-profit setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other technology. Experience with database maintenance and web-based applications for file sharing, creating forms, and task management would be viewed favorably.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously from multiple supervisors
  • Strong organizational, process, and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new programs and skills
  • A servant’s heart with attention to detail while also comfortable speaking into ministry priorities and strategy
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to articulate ideas clearly
  • Communicates in a Christ-like and professional manner in public and private
  • Collaborator with other staff members and ministries to promote the church’s overall mission and health
  • Passionate about the mission, values, and strategy of College Park Church and the essential role of continuing to learn and grow in our spiritual development throughout our lives
  • Spirit-filled individual who possesses an authentic love for Jesus Christ and others and shows increasing evidence of spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Demonstrates a stable, mature Christian walk, with a commitment to prayer and the authority of God’s life-giving word
  • Desires to grow and develop personally as a follower of Christ and professionally in areas of ministry knowledge and skill development
  • Is a member of College Park Church in good standing or willing to become a member

Responsibilities

  • Give input on and execute strategies to promote and encourage involvement in Groups & Classes at College Park
  • Manage Registrations – create events, groups, classes, etc. in Ministry Platform so that congregants can register online. Create and send communications from Ministry Platform to promote and maintain discipleship spaces for the following ministries:
  • Heart of a Man, Men’s Bible Studies, Men’s Events, Women’s Bible Studies, Titus 2, Women’s events, Mom’s Connection, Sparrows, College Park Institute and Ignite@Work
  • Communicate professionally and graciously via email, phone, etc. to congregants, fellow staff members, and ministry partners
  • Respond to inquiries and interest forms submitted from the College Park website
  • Recruit, encourage and regularly communicate with volunteers; schedule in-person and virtual meetings as needed
  • Collaborate with Events Child Care, Production , Communication , and Facilities Teams to support ministry activities
  • Maintain and update ministries’ webpages, making sure information is current
  • Assist with event administration, including but not limited to large events such as Men’s and Women’s conferences, Blessings Market, THINK, etc. and small events such as staff women’s lunches, trainings, Ignite@Work watch party, and volunteer appreciation events
  • Purchase and stock supplies for events and ongoing programs such as Women’s Bible Studies
  • Create and compile presentation materials for ministry and volunteer development events
  • Assist with tech needs for on-site ministries such as audio/visual, recordings, etc. (training provided)
  • Schedule meetings and team building activities for the Groups & Classes Team
  • Coordinate the purchase and display of books for the Resource Area with input from the Pastor of Groups & Classes and other ministry leaders
  • Assist with social media creating strategies and execution of posts and stories to promote ministries
  • Create and share surveys to help evaluate effectiveness of ministries and classes
  • Participate in regular staff and team meetings as well as one-on-one meetings with Supervisor(s)
  • Manage expenses and submit timely expense reports
  • Other duties as assigned
