About The Position

Group Leader – Aerosols Production JOB SUMMARY – This position performs all required packaging functions within the assigned area including quality checks, operation, simple adjustments, cleaning, and changeovers with minimum supervision. This person provides leadership to the team members assigned to his or her respective line. The incumbent in this job will be required to handle, transfer, and label hazardous waste as necessary to comply with EPA regulations. This person has first line accountability for the OEE results of their operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent), Associates Degree preferred. Technical training and/or experience in a mechanical field.
  • Six (6) years relevant experience in a production environment

Responsibilities

  • Through job rotation assignments within a given section, performs a combination of station packaging activities that may include:
  • Product/packaging component inspection and verification of label samples
  • Label application/insertion
  • Replenishing packaging machines and other feeding devices that supply product and material as required
  • Performing all required machine operations and packing of final product
  • Material reconciliation, completion of paper/electronic production reports
  • Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition according to PPG’s and 5S principles
  • Reports all accidents, incidents, near misses, and potential hazards to supervision immediately
  • Will initiate documents for order start-up, complete in-process documentation and perform close out documentation including reconciliation., clearly and legibly
  • Performs other routine tasks as assigned by Facilitator or designee
  • Performs periodic on-line inspection checks and challenges on equipment and properly documents the results
  • Adheres strictly to all cGMPs, PPGs, and safety procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of products and safety of employees
  • Ensures quality checks are performed and documented, assuring all standards and GMPs are met. Corrects any non-conforming procedures. This includes but is not limited to monitoring fill volume, torque checks, safety seal checks, print registration checks, barcode challenges, and leak tests
  • Actively participates in team activities including continuous improvement efforts, cost reduction initiatives and process improvements
  • Provides leadership to the team members assigned to his or her respective line as assigned by Facilitator/designee.
  • Observes line operations to identify and attempts to solve malfunctions, staffing, and safety issues, and reports problems and line discrepancies to Facilitator/designee or Manager immediately
  • Documents, analyzes, and reports OEE downtime data together with OEE resources in the PPU.
  • Works with OEE Engineer, IE and team members to implement OEE improvements
  • Assures proper line set-up for correct packaging componentry, as well as appropriate documentation on PID’s/PBR’s
  • Assures packaging line cleaning/clearance procedures are performed correctly and in accordance with PPGs, GMPs, and safety standards in a timely manner for product and line changes, including the completion of ECR steps, simple changeovers and line set-ups
  • Assists in the training of new employees
  • Maintains training on all equipment used in all aspects of the operation; PPG’s, safety, batch record & documentation requirements
  • Management sets the priorities and work is assigned according to the production schedule. Incumbent receives direction daily from the Facilitator or designee and performs tasks according to specified PPG’s and Job Aids. Completed work is held in the warehouse until it receives QA approval/release.
  • After initial assignments are given, work is performed according to PPG’s, Job Aids, and safety guidelines. Work is checked according to the specified Packaging Instruction Document (PID). This position works with minimal supervision and provides leadership to the assigned team members.
