FUNCTIONS: This position promotes a positive, person-centered teaching and training environment that fosters growth and development for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral concerns. The role includes direct supervision and training of care staff to ensure consistent, respectful, and effective implementation of individualized goals and procedures. By fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, this position ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that respects and enhances the lives of the individuals served.

Requirements

  • Pass a level II DCF background check
  • 3 References
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience working with a dependent population or, an associate’s degree and 2 years of experience or, a bachelor’s degree
  • Certification in CPR and First aid, kept current.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Have excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills and have an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all direct care staff understand and accurately implement person-centered plans, individual goals, and behavioral support strategies in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Providing respectful, constructive training, feedback, and disciplinary actions to direct care staff to maintain high standards of care and compliance.
  • Coordinating and monitoring staff interactions and program implementation to promote meaningful goal achievement and positive outcomes for residents.
  • Maintaining a safe, high-quality environment that supports the residents’ well-being and quality of life.
  • Upholding compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to ensure ethical and effective care practices.
