About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers. They are hiring a part-time Group Facilitator for their Avenues Extended Care facility, an intensive outpatient facility offering outpatient clinical drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. The role involves conducting group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs, assisting clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools, and collaborating with clinical staff. The facility provides a safe, supportive space with amenities like a fully stocked client lounge, client kitchen, and outdoor recreational areas.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required
Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. CIT, RAC, CAC, LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC
Substance abuse experience required
Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality

Responsibilities

Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed
