About The Position

We are looking for a Group Controller (US GAAP) to lead our accounting and financial reporting across a growing group of international entities. You’ll own the close, consolidations, US GAAP compliance, and support tax and audit processes, while building scalable processes and controls as we grow. You will as a key partner to management, providing timely and reliable financial information. Position for candidates currently based in the US Challenges that await you:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Active CPA license in Delaware (or ability to obtain reciprocity/transfer)
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
  • Experience in consolidation and multi-country group reporting
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Manager in a public accounting firm or in industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general corporate accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Ownership mindset: comfortable owning the entire accounting and reporting cycle
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to meet multiple deadlines (monthly close, tax deadlines, etc.)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the preparation of consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) under US GAAP for all entities in the group
  • Ensure accurate intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidationentries
  • Lead and manage the month, quarter and year end close process for all entities to ensure timely, accurate reporting
  • Support audit and review process, including maintenance of supporting documentation
  • Review key account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and update group accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Evaluate and document complex accounting areas (e.g. stock compensation, deferred tax)
  • Provide guidance and training to the team on US GAAP application
  • Coordinate with internal staff and external advisors on Federal, state, and local income and payroll tax filings
  • Ensure timely filing of all compliance reports and information returns
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls appropriate for a growing multi-entity group
  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability (e.g., automation, system integrations)
  • Manage and develop a small accounting team and build one over time
