About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is exclusively working with a prominent Private Equity Group in Little Rock to help them find an Assistant Controller for their organization. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in the preparation, analysis, and integrity of financial reporting for the management company and related investment entities. This position will work closely with senior finance leadership and business owners to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial information in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 7+ Years of accounting, 2+ in a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and multi‑entity consolidations

Nice To Haves

  • MBA / CPA highly preferred
  • Experience in Private Equity, Financial Services, or Family Office highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the management company and related entities, including preparation of financial statements and supporting workpapers
  • Manage general ledger activity, including compilation, coding, and review of journal entries for both cash and non‑cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation and audit trail
  • Review and approve accounts payable runs and centralized payment requests, monitor coding and accuracy of entries, and ensure timely disbursements
  • Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts on a regular basis, investigating and resolving variances promptly
  • Administer intercompany accounts across multiple entities, including reconciliations, allocations, and quarterly settlements
  • Prepare and review global and cross‑company entries and reconciliations, including payroll, benefits, and related allocations among entities
  • Support private equity member-related accounting, including investment leverage loan files and quarterly management fee and expense billings
  • Oversee the fixed asset process, including review of capital expenditure transactions, maintenance of fixed asset and depreciation schedules, and compliance with GAAP, book, and tax reporting requirements
  • Prepare and maintain recurring and ad hoc management reports, including balance sheets, income statements, capital expenditure reports, profit and loss statements, weekly cash reports, and other analytical schedules
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, providing historical analysis, variance insights, and recommendations to management
  • Coordinate and support annual financial statement audits, including preparation of schedules, responding to auditor requests, and resolving issues
  • Supervise a small team that handles transactional accounting
