Groundskeeper, Long Term Care - PRN/As needed
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Groundskeeper for Long Term Care on a PRN/As needed basis. This role is responsible for the care of the organization's maintained grounds, encompassing all types of outside property maintenance, snow removal, equipment operation, and basic tree trimming. The position may also involve assisting with inside maintenance and construction, including sprinkler system repair, parking lot repairs (such as cold patching/asphalt), grounds assessments, minor electrical work, and general maintenance on various equipment. Depending on the location, the individual may also serve as a seasonal shuttle driver for employees.
Requirements
- Ability to operate equipment for basic dirt work and snow removal equipment such as bobcats, trucks with snow removal equipment, power brooms etc.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as light and heavy-duty machinery
- Ability to work on high equipment, such as lifts, ladders etc.
- Knowledge of mechanics
- Working knowledge of plumbing, painting, electronics, masonry, carpentry, welding, and landscape technology
- Adaptable to learn maintenance duties inside buildings when needed
- May require applicable State Commercial Applicators License and/or Certification
- Depending on location, may require current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers
Nice To Haves
- Trade school or vocational school with courses in landscaping, horticulture, forestry or park management desired
- Six months experience working with lawn care equipment preferred
- Experience in parking ramp, lawn maintenance, and general maintenance desired
