About The Position

This is an as-needed (PRN) position for a Driver in Long Term Care at Sanford Health. The role involves combining motor vehicle handling ability with strong communication and patient/resident handling skills. The driver is responsible for safely transporting patients/residents of all ages, developing an understanding of their physical and emotional status, and ensuring confidentiality. Key aspects include maintaining support equipment, setting it up according to manufacturer's recommendations and internal policy, and keeping accurate records as per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. The driver must also manage and communicate any scheduling conflicts.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Excellent customer service skills
• Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability
• Current valid driver’s license
• Meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (If not certified at time of hire, must be certified within six months)

Responsibilities
