About The Position

The Grinder is responsible for operating grinding equipment to shape, smooth, and finish metal components according to specifications. This role supports production quality and efficiency by ensuring finished parts meet dimensional, surface, and safety standards in a metal manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in metal grinding, fabrication, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of metal types, abrasives, and grinding techniques is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand grinders, bench grinders, and/or automated grinding equipment to remove excess material, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Inspect parts during and after grinding to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional requirements.
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, abrasives, and tools for specific materials and applications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance; report equipment issues to supervision.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production or quality issues.
• Perform other tasks as assigned and required.
