POSITION OVERVIEW: Grid Technology Operations Support Analysts are responsible for understanding grid technology systems and processes, as well as supporting the departments that depend on them. Grid technology includes, but is not limited to, the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Outage Management System (OMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Geographic Information System (GIS), and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) - including meter data collection systems, field devices, and the AMI communications network. Analysts prioritize service to internal and external customers and achieve success through collaboration, effective communication, and strong interdepartmental partnerships. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills, along with a collaborative mindset, including responsibility for supporting and configuring ADMS capabilities to meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field required; bachelor’s degree or advanced technical certifications preferred
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills, with strengths in process documentation, problem-solving, and data analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems both independently and collaboratively with internal peers and vendor personnel
  • Aptitude for learning new software, working across multiple systems, and adapting to evolving technologies and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Natural curiosity, solid problem-solving ability, and willingness to investigate issues to understand root causes
  • Commitment to following established procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Strong sense of ownership, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a utility or telecom operations environment preferred, with familiarity in areas such as distribution operations (e.g., SCADA, GIS, DMS/ADMS), utility metering, Smart Grid technologies, communication networks, or meter data flows

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an operations analyst for grid technology systems, including but not limited to ADMS and AMI.
  • Maintain and adjust ADMS configuration settings to support operational needs, informed by configuration requests, workshops, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Review, triage, and resolve system exceptions; escalate issues to internal technical support or vendors and assist with resolution.
  • Monitor grid technology systems to support proactive identification and resolution of incidents.
  • Liaise with departments including System Operations, T&D Dispatch/Schedulers, Engineering, Asset Management, Customer Contact Center, AMI, GIS, Power Systems Technical and Line & Meter Operations to understand impacts, identify process gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal departments, external auditors, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned projects; perform user acceptance testing for system upgrades and related initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry technology developments; attend vendor training and user conferences to maintain system expertise and build peer/vendor relationships.
  • Provide after-hours support, including weekends and holidays, as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including responsibilities associated with System Restoration.
